Abstract:
Organoid transplantation is an emerging regenerative medicine with the potential to address the global organ shortage. Organoids, as three-dimensional (3D), miniature structures derived from stem cells, can mimic structural and functional aspects of human organs. This paper explores the current research and clinical testing of organoid transplantation and states the advantages of organoid transplantation over traditional transplants, including immune compatibility and scalable production, while also acknowledging challenges such as vascularization and manufacturing complexity. Future directions include technologies such as 3D bioprinting, which may enhance clinical translation. With continued development, organoid transplantation holds the potential to transform treatment strategies for end-stage organ failure and become a cornerstone in regenerative medicine.
