The Princeton Journal of Interdisciplinary Research (PJIR) is a peer-reviewed, open-access platform dedicated to elevating original work by undergraduate, graduate, and early-career scholars. We believe that inquiry flourishes in an environment shaped and sustained by researchers themselves. PJIR is run by scholars, for scholars: an academic community committed to curiosity, intellectual generosity, and methodological rigor.
We aim to foster the next generation of researchers by providing a space where ideas can be explored freely, where disciplinary boundaries are porous, and where meaningful dialogue can take root. By featuring innovative research across the sciences, social sciences, engineering, the humanities, and emerging interdisciplinary fields, we seek to highlight work that not only advances knowledge, but also asks the questions that expand how we imagine the world.
We are committed to maintaining a publication model that is fully accessible to both authors and readers. PJIR does not charge article processing fees or subscription fees. Knowledge should circulate openly. Scholarly work should be shared — not gated behind paywalls, nor limited to those with institutional privilege. By removing these barriers, we ensure that emerging researchers have the opportunity to participate in scholarly conversation on equal footing, and that the research we publish is freely available to the global community.
Current Issue
Volume 1, Issue 2 — December 2025
This second issue of PJIR brings together a diverse collection of peer-reviewed research articles that engage with some of the most urgent and complex questions shaping our world today. The scholarship featured here spans public health and the life sciences; investigations into political revolution and the forces that destabilize, reform, or reimagine governance; analyses of the economic impact of immigration and the reshaping of labor, identity, and mobility in a globalized age; and critical studies addressing gender-based violence and the cultural, legal, and psychological frameworks that sustain or challenge it — and beyond.
In bringing these research and conversations into shared space, this issue of PJIR not only showcases distinct disciplinary insights, but also highlights the power of interdisciplinary inquiry in understanding — and reshaping — the world we inhabit.
